Good morning, Lancaster.

A new mobile web app launches in Lancaster County to help food banks and pantries share surplus items and coordinate pickups using real-time inventory updates.

Founder Terry Kile said volunteers can use the free platform (supported by Central PA Food Bank, Midwest Food Bank, and Community Action Partnership) to better serve families in need.

Briella Neidermyer, 14, was inspired by her father's 25 years at Garden Spot Fire Rescue in New Holland & became a probationary firefighter, now one of the department's two active female first responders.

Cold air from a strong front moved in on Monday and Tuesday brings mostly sunny skies with highs in the low 20s while brisk winds produce upper single-digit wind chills this afternoon and a low near 10°F tonight; residents should dress in layers + cover exposed skin.

A G4 geomagnetic storm watch is in effect and may bring visible northern lights over Lancaster later today (weather permitting) as a coronal mass ejection approaches.

Residents should check local forecasts to time their viewing in dark areas.
