- ➤ On Feb. 12, fire crews rescued a deer trapped on the ice at the Octoraro Reservoir in Colerain Township and transferred it to the PA Game Commission. All units departed the scene by 11:50 a.m. Daily Voice

- ➤ Inside Wheatland, the historic home preserves original floors, furniture, and clock chimes from President James Buchanan’s era (a reminder of his controversial legacy). The site offers visitors a window into Pennsylvania’s only president and his enduring impact in Lancaster County. FOX43
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Pa. Game Commission said snow geese will soon begin arriving at Middle Creek Wildlife Management Area near the county line once the ice melts and open water forms on the lake. Last year about 100,000 birds migrated in mid-February (peak viewing this year may start later than usual). WGAL

- ➤ Faith Friendship Ministries announced Monday that the Faith Friendship Villa in Mountville will close over the coming months because funding shortages + rising costs have forced the board to act. - ➤ On Monday night, residents in Mount Joy and Elizabethtown voiced concerns over a plan to build a 60-acre development – it could include warehouses, hotel, restaurant, retail, and apartments, and the township board tabled the proposal to review public comments over the next four weeks. WGAL
- ➤ Mervin Raudabaugh, an 86-year-old Silver Spring Township farmer, turned down a data center deal worth more than $15 million and instead sold the development rights to his (261-acre) farm for under $2 million in December, ensuring the land remains untouched.
