- ➤ Volunteer teams from Lancaster Snow Angels and Santa’s Wolfpack helped clear driveways and parking spaces after parts of Lancaster County received up to 8 inches of snow from Sunday night through Monday morning — providing crucial aid for elderly residents and easing local travel. FOX43

- ➤ Primanti Bros. announced that its Lancaster (and Camp Hill) locations will permanently close after a detailed portfolio review, according to vice president Ryan Wilkinson. The Pittsburgh-based chain will continue operating in York and Hershey. FOX43
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Rain this weekend disrupted the ice on the Susquehanna River near Lancaster and formed an ice jam. Officials are monitoring conditions to ensure public safety. Local 21 News
- ➤ Snow reports came in from a winter storm that produced up to 6.5 inches in parts of the Susquehanna Valley with Lancaster County totals ranging from 3.7 to 4.0 inches (heavy wet snow may cause power outages from gusty winds reaching 40 mph). Conditions improved later as the snow ended. WGAL

- ➤ The Hempfield Water Authority in Lancaster County announced that its drinking water is now safe after high nitrate levels from one well were resolved. Customers received a letter Monday or will receive one today (the authority is working on a long-term solution to lower nitrate levels). WGAL
- ➤ Research from Elizabethtown College finds the Amish vote was not decisive in Lancaster’s role in Pennsylvania’s 2024 election (about 2,500 Amish voters turned out, slightly fewer than in 2020) while shifts among urban voters explain the state’s results. WGAL

- ➤ Residents of Plateau Village are expressing deep concern as United Zion plans to close the mobile home community to repurpose the land into cottages for its retirement community.
