ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Specialist Krystofer Lopez, an 18-year-old military police officer at the Letterkenny Army Depot, died from training injuries on Thursday at WellSpan Chambersburg Hospital, and his family remembered him for always putting others first.  Local 21 News

  • BusinessCurio Gallery and Creative Supply opened March 6 (at 111 N. Prince St. in the Prince Street Parking Garage) after Kinsley Construction transformed the former Lancaster Parking Authority offices into a modern, 2,800 sqft space featuring art supplies, books, and local art exhibits (the renovation was completed on time).  PennLive

  • Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre in East Hempfield Township is staging Little Shop of Horrors, a musical with a talking, singing plant + a 60's tale of a shy flower-shop worker that runs through March 21.  FOX43

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The Riverkeeper Association filed a motion Friday to temporarily shut down J and K Salvage over alleged stormwater pollution impacting Codorus Creek. The group said its inspection found the site lacks proper controls and seeks an injunction until a permit is obtained from the PA Department of Environmental Protection.  WGAL
  • A wind advisory is in effect through 11 a.m. today for most of the Susquehanna Valley, with gusts up to 40 mph that could cause isolated power outages and bring down tree limbs + unsecured outdoor items. Residents should secure loose items and exercise caution while driving.  WGAL

  • Lidl recalled Favorina Chocolate Ladybugs candy after labeling issues meant it did not list hazelnuts (a risk for allergic consumers). The 3.52 oz boxes were sold between Jan. 28 and Mar. 11 at locations in PA and other states.  Daily Voice

  • On Friday, March 13, Leo Pitassi from Susquehanna Township earned his second PIAA 2A 50 free medal after posting a personal best of 21.31 seconds at Bucknell’s Kinney Natatorium & he will train with the athletic director in the offseason to build more strength.  PennLive
