  • PPL reported nearly 10,000 power outages in Lancaster, which reached about 16,000 in Wilkes-Barre + 1,000 people in Mt. Joy were without power as of Sunday, March 16th.  Local 21 News

CRIME NEWS

  • State Police are investigating several cases of animal cruelty in Lancaster County after unknown actors fired shots into two cows on the 100 block of Schoolhouse Road in Colerain Township and at a horse and a cow on the 500 block of S. Vintage Road in Sadsbury Township on March 15—police ask anyone with information to call 717-299-7650.  WDAC
  • Taxpayers in Lancaster are warned about fake IRS text messages that claim they are owed $1,400 Economic Impact Payment and ask for personal info—official sources note the IRS never sends texts—and advise people not to click any links.  Daily Voice

  • Sen. Doug Mastriano from Adams and Franklin Counties has proposed the Creation of Law in Our Schools Act to require PA public schools to display the Ten Commandments, the Declaration of Independence, the PA Constitution, and the U.S. Constitution—he said the move will help students learn history—and he is seeking co-sponsor support.  WDAC
