- ➤ Crews are battling a large woods fire near Shumaker and Oak Tree roads in Rapho Township today at 1:20 p.m.—no injuries have been reported and no buildings are affected as drivers are advised to avoid the area. WGAL
- ➤ Crews responded to a house fire in the 1800 block of Temple Avenue near Eastman Avenue in Manor Township at 1:52 p.m. Tuesday. WGAL
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A Lancaster man was arrested on arson and criminal trespass charges after he started a fire in a building's basement on the 900 block of N. Queen Street yesterday, and 42-year-old Robert Ream (bail set at $75,000) fled on foot but was later captured. WDAC
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Officials at Pennsylvania College of Technology and Thaddeus Stevens College signed an agreement that allows students to transfer smoothly from associate degree programs to four-year degrees. The two campuses are about (2 hours and 10 minutes) apart. PennLive
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Lancaster Rep. Keith Greiner reintroduced House Bill 1031 that would raise littering fines from $300 to $2,000 for a first offense and from $1,000 to $5,000 for repeat offenses — with waste disposal companies facing fines up to $10,000 for a first offense and $20,000 for later offenses. The bill has been referred to the House Judiciary Committee for review. WDAC
