ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • The Lancaster Bureau of Police responded to two cyclist collisions on Saturday night when an adult male riding the wrong way at E. Chestnut Street and N. Shippen Street was found unresponsive with a serious head injury at 8:30 p.m.—bystanders helped until he was taken to a hospital—and another adult male riding an e-bike without lights collided with a vehicle at Hershey Avenue and Wabank Road around 9 p.m. and was taken to a hospital with a fractured leg while charges are pending for both incidents.  WGAL

CRIME NEWS

  • Lancaster County man Jere Bagenstose, accused of killing his estranged wife Maryann in 1984 when her body was never found, did not testify in his murder trial, and after closing arguments ended Monday at 5 p.m.—the 12 jurors will resume deliberations today at 8:30 a.m.  WGAL
  • Pennsylvania State Police and the Lancaster County Coroner’s Office announced yesterday that they are working to identify human remains found nearly 40 years ago on Weise Island in the Susquehanna River. Photographs of clothing found with the remains were released to help find new leads.  Daily Voice
  • Lancaster police arrested three people on Saturday after surveillance in Binns + Ewell parks responded to numerous overdoses; officers stopped buyer Carlos Santiago-Serrano with four bags of K2, apprehended seller James McGhee found with cash and drug paraphernalia, and arrested William McClung after he tried to walk off with drugs.  WGAL
  • A Lancaster City teenager, Amari Poole, 15, was charged with attempted homicide and other offenses after he allegedly conspired and fired on a victim on the 400 block of Green Street on December 13, 2024—he waived his preliminary hearing on March 27 and remains in youth detention on a $500,000 bail.  Local 21 News
  • State Police and the Lancaster County Coroner’s Office are working to identify human remains found on Weise Island in the Susquehanna River on March 18th, 1986—officials say the remains belong to an African American male aged 20—40, about 6 ft 1 in tall and 190 pounds who wore New Balance size 11 ½ shoes, blue jeans, and a Levi Strauss belt—and they ask anyone with information to call Trooper Brian McNally at 717-290-1967 or Deputy Coroner Richard Graff at 717-735-2123.  WDAC
