- ➤ An explosion caused by a fuel mix-up injured a teenage teacher and two girls at Hidden View Amish Schoolhouse in Spartansburg on March 27; they were flown by helicopter to hospitals in Buffalo and Rochester and are now receiving treatment while a local fundraiser covers medical and travel costs. - ➤ Zest Cooking School will leave its current Manheim Township location on May 2 & resume classes on July 1 at a new 1,000 sqft larger space at Shops at Rockvale in East Lampeter Township. - ➤ Friday, HACC said its 2026-27 budget cuts 100+ jobs and cancels the Neighbors and Novels book fair at its welcome center set for 11 a.m. Saturday. In under 15 hours, authors and vendors moved the fair to Pocket Book Shop at 903 Wheatland Avenue, running 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. PennLive
- ➤ Comet C/2025 R3 (Pan-STARRS) will brighten in mid-April and be visible on the eastern horizon about 60 to 90 minutes before sunrise until April 20. Binoculars are recommended as its brightness improves for a rare cosmic show. Daily Voice
