COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Lancaster County's Best Kept Secrets Tour returns this spring, featuring 44 secret stops that spotlight local shops and artisans. Ticket sales of $12 will support local charities (including $1 donated to Lancaster Snow Angels) as the tour runs through Apr. 25.  FOX43
  • Hope Served nonprofit started renovations Monday at the former Manheim Mennonite Church to create a workforce development center for people with disabilities. The project features a Wall-Breaking Celebration — the space will include a training kitchen and is set to finish by early fall.  FOX43

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • After her son died in a distracted driving crash, Eileen Miller fought for 14 years to pass Paul Miller’s Law+ a measure that bans handheld phone use while driving and aims to improve road safety in Lancaster.  WGAL

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • UGI will close Swatara Street between 3rd & 4th at 9 a.m. today in Steelton for scheduled work; in Columbia, the 600 block of Locust Street will be closed from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. through Friday.  WGAL
  • The Pennsylvania Game Commission voted Saturday to extend deer rifle season from Nov. 28 to Dec. 13 and add more Sunday hunting days — raising the total from one to three each week. Supporters say the change will boost participation and help manage the deer population.  WGAL

HEALTH NEWS

  • Healthy Steps Diaper Bank moved to a new Dauphin County warehouse — offering a larger space for diaper and period product distribution— and continues serving families in Cumberland, Dauphin, Lancaster, Perry and York counties without interruption. Executive Director Amanda Barnes said the quick transition after a sudden lease loss ensures local support remains steady.  FOX43

  • Jennifer Smith, Lock Haven’s all-time wins leader, is leaving after 18 seasons to coach at Millersville University (her alma mater). She said her PSAC experience will help build a culture of toughness and selflessness as she chases a championship milestone.  WGAL
