ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A trash truck caught fire in East Lampeter Township Monday in Lancaster County as it unloaded burning trash into the Goodwill Store donation center parking lot near Lincoln Highway East/Route 30 and Witmer Road, and fire crews responded at 6:29 a.m.—roads were not blocked and no one was injured.  WGAL
  • Firefighters responded to a fire at an apartment building on the 100 block of Sandy Hill Road in West Cocalico Township just before 9:30 a.m.—they evacuated the building with no injuries reported.  WGAL

CRIME NEWS

  • Lancaster Police closed the 400 block of N. Mulberry Street today after a report of a suspected shooting was made shortly after 10 a.m.—officers are gathering evidence and speaking to witnesses while asking the public to avoid the area.  FOX43
  • A person was shot and killed just before 10 a.m. on the 400 block of North Mulberry Street Monday morning, and police arrested 25-year-old David Pearce after they found he knew the victim.  WGAL
  • An East Hempfield Township man was sentenced to life in prison without parole — plus 41.5 to 85 years — after a Lancaster County jury found him guilty in February of shooting his girlfriend on Sept. 11 and firing at police during a nearly five-hour standoff, with a restitution order over $24,000 for funeral costs.  FOX43
  • Police are investigating a shooting reported at 9:52 a.m. Monday in the 400 block of North Mulberry Street in Lancaster — authorities are seeking more details.  Local 21 News
