ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A 63-year-old man identified as James Norris died after being struck by a vehicle on Lincoln Highway East in East Lampeter Township Thursday night—police are investigating while the cause of the crash remains unknown.  PennLive
  • A small plane's cabin door popped open seconds after takeoff on March 9 at 2:30 p.m., causing it to crash into a retirement community near Lancaster Airport with all five onboard surviving though the pilot and his son suffered serious burns (the aircraft was a 1981 Beechcraft Bonanza).  Daily Voice
  • A Lancaster County family of six was in a deadly crash early this morning in Laurel, Maryland while on the way to South Carolina; their 13-year-old son died and the 10-year-old daughter is on life support in a Washington, D.C. hospital and will soon be taken off life support— the family said they plan to donate her organs to help save other young lives.  WGAL

CRIME NEWS

  • Lancaster County authorities released Jere Bagenstose, 70, on $925,000 bail Thursday at 6:30 p.m.—he was convicted of voluntary manslaughter in the 1984 disappearance of his wife Maryann and must surrender his passport and remain in Lancaster County until sentencing.  WGAL
  • A Lancaster County man, Robert Kendig Bard, 56, was arrested on April 16 for stalking and open lewdness after he allegedly followed a victim from Yoder's Country Market to parks where he exposed himself—he posted bail and his hearing is set for April 25.  Daily Voice

CULTURE NEWS

  • Today, hundreds gathered in Lancaster to follow the 41st Stations of the Cross walk hosted by San Juan Bautista Church—an event that lasted two hours and ended with a symbolic crucifixion of Jesus. The church will continue its services throughout the weekend.  FOX43
