EDUCATION NEWS

  • The School District of Lancaster announced changes to its financial leadership after a software error nearly led to a $10 million budget deficit. The board will vote Tuesday on interim candidate — Chuck Linderman — as the district begins a national search for a new CFO.  Local 21 News
  • The School District of Lancaster is considering furloughs to address a $10M deficit caused by overspending and an accounting error—Superintendent Dr. Keith Miles said a new CFO will be hired to plan for long-term stability while keeping class sizes unchanged.  WGAL

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Pennsylvania Energy Secretary Chris Wright said last week that a natural gas pipeline expansion will soon take place in the Susquehanna Valley. The project, revived after environmental debates, includes a 10-mile loop in Quarryville (Lancaster County) and is expected to resume progress soon.  WGAL

SPORTS NEWS

  • York Revolution will open their season today at WellSpan Park against Lancaster Stormers with gates opening at 5:30 p.m. and first pitch at 6:30 p.m. The team will mark the occasion with a championship ring ceremony, a ring and necklace giveaway, and in-game promotions & special offers.  WGAL
