- ➤ Police responded Friday afternoon near the Route 30 and Route 462 bridges after social media indicated 33-year-old Lancaster resident April Wefler, a poll worker coordinator, was last seen Tuesday — the Lancaster County Coroner confirmed her body was found in the Susquehanna River less than 48 hours after she likely entered the water with no signs of trauma. - ➤ Lancaster County Coroner’s Office identified April Weller, 33, of Lancaster City, through dental records after her body was found in the Susquehanna River between the Wright’s Ferry Bridge—Veterans Memorial Bridge last Friday; her family reported her missing on April 19, she drowned, and her manner of death remains under investigation. - ➤ Lancaster County Coroner’s Office announced Tuesday that a body found on April 18 near the Susquehanna River shoreline between Wrights Ferry Bridge and Veterans Memorial Bridge in West Hempfield Township was identified as 33-year-old April Wefler of Lancaster who was reported missing on April 19 after her last contact on April 15 — an autopsy determined she drowned in fresh water and investigators are still looking into her death. - ➤ A Lancaster County man, 22-year-old Noe Yaxcal Che, was taken into custody after he stabbed a victim with a 15-inch knife early Tuesday morning in East Hempfield Township—police said the victim was taken to Lancaster General Hospital with a stab wound, and Che claimed the attack followed ongoing insults that made him feel disrespected.
