ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A pedestrian was struck by a car at North President Avenue and West New Street in Lancaster City at 8 a.m. on Wednesday—police, fire and EMS arrived at the scene while the victim's condition remains unknown.  WGAL
  • A child was struck by a vehicle near Mcilvaine Road and Lincoln Highway East on Rt 30 in Paradise Township at 11:04 a.m. on April 23, and responders (MEDIC 06-10 and Intercourse EMS attended) while Pennsylvania State Police led the investigation (child's condition has not been released).  Daily Voice

CRIME NEWS

  • Lancaster Police reported that 14-year-old Isalianie Vicente was last seen Sunday night at about 10 p.m.—she wore glasses, a black t-shirt, red pants and black and white shoes and police are asking anyone with tips to call County Dispatch.  FOX43

CULTURE NEWS

  • The PA Historical & Museum Commission celebrated the Railroad Museum of PA's 50th anniversary in Strasburg as the museum marks 50 years since it opened in 1975. A new exhibit titled Tracking Our History: 50 Years of the Railroad Museum In Pictures debuted in the gallery and Lampeter-Strasburg High School Concert Band performed to honor the milestone.  WDAC

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Legislation passed unanimously in the PA House will extend the moratorium on Social Security cost-of-living adjustments for PACE and PACENET eligibility until Dec. 31, 2027—protecting seniors from losing vital prescription drug benefits, and the bill now moves to the state Senate for review. Lancaster County Rep. Nikki Rivera said without the extension, over 10,000 PACENET enrollees risk losing coverage while 12,500 PACE enrollees would lose lower co-payments.  WDAC

HEALTH NEWS

  • The American Lung Association released its 2025 State of the Air report showing Lancaster rejoined the worst 25 cities in the nation as it became the 22nd most polluted metro area and 2nd worst in the Mid-Atlantic for daily particle pollution—its ozone grade dropped from a B to a C and its year-round pollution ranking worsened from 57th to 45th.  WDAC
