  • Weiser's Market near Lititz will close permanently on May 23—ending 28 years of family operations. The retiring family said the decision came after heartfelt discussions and careful consideration and thanked customers for decades of loyalty.  WGAL

CRIME NEWS

  • A Lancaster couple's Ring footage captured an unknown person attempting to set fire to their repeatedly vandalized Pride flag around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday on North Queen Street; Lancaster City Police are investigating and ask anyone with extra footage to call 717-735-3300.  Local 21 News

CULTURE NEWS

  • A new museum honoring Thaddeus Stevens will open May 1 on East Pine Street in Lancaster. The Stevens and Smith Center (built on the site of his former law office) highlights his role in advancing civil rights through key constitutional amendments.  WGAL
  • The Central Pennsylvania Music Hall of Fame announced plans to induct Taylor Swift in 2027. Fans will enjoy a special video cover loaded with easter eggs and local pre-induction events including open mics, concerts, and a compilation album to honor her legacy.  Local 21 News

HEALTH NEWS

  • Blue Cross Blue Shield settlement payouts will begin in May for people who held coverage from Feb. 2008 to Oct. 2020. Payment amounts depend on premiums paid and plan type, with calculated payouts under $5 not being sent, according to the settlement website.  Daily Voice

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • The Hoober Eby Barn, built during the Civil War in 1861, is at risk of demolition if it is not relocated as landowners plan to repurpose the property, and local preservation groups urge finding a new site (a reminder of our shared past).  FOX43
