- ➤ Conrad Fisher has converted a former Presbyterian church in McCoysville to Ragamuffin Hall for Amish and Mennonite artists and performed sold-out concerts with Ben and Rose Stoltzfus last Saturday — the new space celebrates local musical talents in a unique setting. WGAL
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ On May 1 at 12:15 p.m., the Lancaster City Bureau of Police responded to a potential threat at Washington Elementary School and placed the campus on lockdown as a precaution. A thorough investigation confirmed the report was unfounded, and normal operations have resumed. WGAL
- ➤ Lancaster City launched the Fix It! Lancaster app and website to let residents report potholes, overgrown weeds, and broken signs by dropping a pin or entering an address (similar to New York’s 311) so maintenance workers can quickly address issues. Since 2023, the app has recorded about 12,000 requests. WGAL
- ➤ PennDOT and AAA are promoting motorcycle safety this May by sharing tips on using proper signals and wearing safety gear, while offering free training courses for motorcyclists of all skill levels. The campaign aims to help local riders and drivers share the road safely. WGAL
