- ➤ State police said a vehicle crashed into a tree then struck a bridge on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Lancaster County on Saturday morning near the Reading Interchange as the driver Saurav Prabhakar, 23, and passenger Manav Patel, 20—both from Cleveland—were pronounced dead at the scene while another passenger was injured and taken to Reading Hospital. - ➤ Lancaster County child rapist Thomas Edward Irwin Sr.—77, formerly of Peach Bottom—was sentenced to two to seven years in state prison on May 12 after pleading guilty to abusing a young girl between 2016 and 2019 at a Manheim Township home, where he told her to switch the TV to the Disney Channel if anyone entered. - ➤ East Lampeter Township Police Department is asking for help to identify a male suspect who forcefully entered the maintenance shop at The Bradford Apartments on May 6 in East Lampeter Township—witnesses with information are urged to call 717-291-4676. WGAL
- ➤ Gary Testerman, 37, of Providence Township, was sentenced to two to ten years after he crashed while DUI on Lancaster Pike in September — the crash seriously injured a couple and one victim is now confined to a wheelchair and will never walk unassisted — as he did not have a license or insurance.
