- ➤ Police said a fleeing driver crashed head-on near the intersection of Route 501 and Lexington Road in Elizabeth Township at 2:39 a.m. Sunday—after fleeing an attempted traffic stop in Lititz Borough, multiple occupants were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and officers are investigating the driver. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The PA Department of Education announced that 12 educators are nominated for 2026 Teacher of the Year, and those from our region include Jenna Love (Elizabethtown Area School District) and Andrea Rutledge (Hempfield School District). The winner will be announced at a state awards ceremony in early December and will represent the Commonwealth at national events. WDAC

- ➤ United Way of Lancaster County's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program reported a strong 2024 season with 191 IRS-certified volunteers filing 10,538 returns at 26 sites and saving clients an estimated $2.8 million in fees—with families saving an average of $273 each. The downtown office continues to offer year-round services for tax filings, amended returns and PA rent and property tax rebate applications with the deadline extended to December 31. WDAC
