  • Kevin Ahn appeared in Lancaster court on Friday—where his bail was set at $350,000—for alleged abuse of his mother's corpse after her body was found in a Penn Township SUV with trash around it, and he faces two first-degree murder charges in Maryland with extradition pending and a status hearing set for June.  WGAL
  • A West Virginia man named Aaron Levert Croom, 24, is charged with involuntary manslaughter in a car crash on April 18 near MD 197—where a 13-year-old boy died at the scene and his 10-year-old sister later died while their family was en route to a vacation in South Carolina.  PennLive
  • Emily Brown, 39, pleaded guilty after she and her husband robbed three convenience stores in Lancaster County in 11 hours on Nov. 26 to buy crack cocaine — prosecutors said — and she received a sentence of five to 10 years in state prison.  PennLive

CULTURE NEWS

  • Mount Hope Estate & Winery will hold Flavorfest today and Sunday on the grounds of the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire with advance date-specific tickets available online; general admission costs $24.95, guests aged between 12 and 20 pay $6.95, and children 11 and under enter free. Visitors can sample wines and spirits from 26 wineries and nine distilleries and shop local goods at on-site kitchens — the event will be held rain or shine and is located a half-mile south of Pa.
