- ➤ Throughout June, the Pa. Dairymen's Association will host charitable pop-up milkshake events at businesses across south central Pennsylvania—each sale will support local causes, scholarships, and philanthropic work. In Lancaster, one event is scheduled for Friday, June 6 at Binns Park, running from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with free milkshakes offered while supplies last. FOX43
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A vehicle flipped onto its side after a two-vehicle crash at 6:39 a.m. Thursday on Kinzer and Mine roads in Sadsbury Township—roads remain closed while Pennsylvania State Police investigate. WGAL
- ➤ The Historic Neff’s Mill Covered Bridge on Penn Grant Road closed after a truck hit it Wednesday at about 7:15 p.m.—West Lampeter Township police reported no injuries and issued a citation while Lancaster County Facilities Management will inspect the bridge before it reopens. Local 21 News
- ➤ On Tuesday, May 27, police and EMS responded to an accident at Centerville Road and Columbia Avenue when a 64-year-old Lancaster man was struck by a 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt (driven by a 21-year-old Lancaster man) as he walked into the vehicle's path; he was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. - ➤ A woman wanted on a homicide warrant from Lancaster County pretended to be her sister—wanted on felony retail theft—when she was stopped in York at 3 a.m. on May 21 and is now held pending transfer to Lancaster County Prison on charges of homicide and drug delivery resulting in death while her sister’s whereabouts remain unknown. - ➤ A Lancaster man was sentenced to two and a half to seven years in state prison after he led police on a high-speed chase on the 1000 block of Dillerville Road in December 2022—he was convicted in March for fleeing an officer and two summary traffic offenses. WDAC
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ A Lancaster County bridge on South Colebrook Road in East Hempfield Township closed on May 27 and will remain shut until July 31 for deck maintenance and preservation work spanning Chiques Creek—police said drivers must follow detour signs directing traffic to Junction Road while local traffic and post services continue using the road.
