ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A single-vehicle crash has closed Lancaster Road between Quarry Road and Root Road in East Hempfield Township — officials have not confirmed injuries and are working at the scene. WGAL
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Celestial watchers in Lancaster may see the northern lights tonight as a coronal mass ejection seen at 8:30 p.m. last night is expected to cause a strong geomagnetic storm. The Space Weather Prediction Center said the aurora could be visible from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.—residents should seek dark areas for the best view. WGAL
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Officials said that a salmonella outbreak linked to cucumbers from Bedner Growers has sickened 45 people and hospitalized 16 in 18 states, including Pennsylvania. The USDA issued a recall on May 30 for products shipped from April 29 to May 19 — Lancaster residents are advised to discard any recalled cucumbers. Daily Voice
- ➤ WeHwupe Store recalled about 94,800 adult bed rails because they violate federal safety regulations and risk trapping users—one injury was reported when a rail broke. The rails, sold on Amazon and Walmart between September 2023 and January 2025 for $33 to $43, now come with free replacements and should no longer be used. Daily Voice
