ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Emergency crews responded to a crash near North Red School Road in Caernarvon Township around 9 a.m. Wednesday — all lanes of Route 23 were shut down between Swamp and Maxwell Hill roads while Pennsylvania State Police worked the scene.  WGAL

CRIME NEWS

  • Jason R. Sauder, 44, from Rapho Township, pleaded guilty to DUI and homicide charges for running a stop sign and fatally striking an 87-year-old driver near an Elizabeth Township intersection on March 3 and was sentenced to three to six years in state prison—he is also ordered to pay more than $10,000 in restitution.  Daily Voice

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The state Senate passed a bill that stops Social Security cost-of-living increases from counting toward income for the PACE and PACENET programs until Dec. 31, 2027. The measure now goes to the PA House and could help over 10,000 seniors keep getting low-cost prescription drugs.  WDAC
