Good morning, Lancaster. Here's your local news at a glance for Friday, the 6th of June.

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A 7-year-old boy riding in a horse and buggy was seriously injured in Salisbury Township on Wednesday morning—near 9:17 a.m. on Old Philadelphia Pike just east of Spring Garden Road when a 10-year-old girl’s cart was hit by a semi truck after a startled pony, and he was taken to Lancaster General Hospital before being moved to Hershey Medical Center for head trauma while the girl received treatment for minor injuries.  Local 21 News
  • Earlier this week a truck carrying eggs for a Manheim egg company spilled hundreds of cartons at a local tavern on Fairview Road near Prospect Road in West Hempfield Township — cracked shells and yolks covered the parking lot — and no one was injured.  FOX43

CRIME NEWS

  • Three Cuban nationals are charged in a card skimming scheme after installing devices at a gas station on Hempstead Road, officials said. The men, accused of more than two dozen crimes including fraud and theft, will have their cases moved to county court while they remain in Lancaster County Prison on $1M bail.  Local 21 News
  • Two Pennsylvania men—Bradley Andrew Buchanan and Leandro J. • The cases against three men charged in a card skimming scheme will proceed to court as prosecutors say the suspects installed skimmers at a gas station on the 1700 block of Hempstead Road in East Lampater Township and used stolen credit card data to make about $17,000 in fraudulent purchases from over two dozen victims + all three defendants are held with $1 million bail and face charges including corrupt organizations, organized retail theft and access device theft.  WGAL

EDUCATION NEWS

  • A new statewide study shows that several central Pennsylvania counties, including Lancaster, face an 'extremely severe' teacher shortage as districts struggle to fill key positions.
