- ➤ One person was taken to hospital after crashing into a pole on the 700 block of Lampeter Road around 3:10 p.m.—injury extent and crash cause remain unclear. WGAL
- ➤ Emergency crews responded to a reported gas leak at a Giant Food shopping center in the 3900 block of Columbia Avenue on May 30 at 10 a.m.—officials are investigating the incident and no injuries have been reported. Local 21 News
- ➤ A reported gas leak was under investigation in Lancaster County—dispatch said the leak was in the 3900 block of Columbia Avenue in West Hempfield Township and crews evacuated the Giant Food Store after being called just before 10 a.m. Sunday. WGAL
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A Lancaster County judge sentenced 21-year-old Brandon Gentile—a Chester County man from South Coatesville Borough—after he pleaded guilty to 15 offenses including homicide by vehicle, DUI and carrying a firearm without a license following a high-speed street race on June 4 that killed a 22-year-old motorcyclist; his sentence includes two days in prison, 12 months of house arrest and up to two months of intensive supervision. - ➤ The GO! initiative helps families explore dozens of trails in seven counties to practice reading and math and learn about local nature and history.
