ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Downed power lines sparked a brush fire Thursday morning near Governor Stable and Turnpike roads in Conoy Township – a section of Governor Stable Road remains closed until the power company repairs the lines.  WGAL

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Lancaster Bible College will partner with Calvary Homes this fall to house 40 female students in an assisted living wing as part of a unique intergenerational program—an effort to meet growing on-campus housing needs. The partnership may later expand to include housing for male students.  FOX43

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Local farmers in Lancaster County are preparing for hurricane season by clearing drainage ditches, securing equipment and moving manure into storage—steps aimed at reducing runoff—while the USDA urges all Susquehanna Valley landowners to develop emergency plans and review their insurance for flood damage.  WGAL

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • PennDOT announced ramp closures at the Centerville Road Interchange Improvement Project in East Hempfield Township—eastbound closures from 8 p.m. Thursday to 6 a.m. today have ended while westbound ramp closures will run from 8 p.m. tonight until 6 a.m. Saturday. Motorists should plan for delays and use alternate routes to avoid lane restrictions during paving work.  PennLive
  • On June 3, PA House Bill 1431—repealing the state's Sunday hunting ban—passed the House Game and Fisheries Committee and now heads to the Senate where it will let the Game Commission include Sunday hunting in its annual season planning.  WDAC
