- ➤ A tractor-trailer and another vehicle collided at the intersection of Friendly Drive and Lancaster Pike in Drumore Township at 10:25 a.m. Friday — the crash closed a road and multiple EMS units responded — while Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the scene. WGAL
- ➤ A fire broke out at Hondru Auto Collision Center on Hamaker Road in Manheim Borough yesterday at 10:59 a.m.—firefighters responded, one person was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation, and nearby roads were closed while the cause and damage remain unknown. WGAL

- ➤ Asian longhorned tick is spreading in the Susquehanna Valley including Lancaster—experts note that it can carry germs for Lyme disease and Anaplasmosis and may appear in high numbers on pets and livestock. Researchers at Millersville University said residents should be tick aware and remove ticks promptly when found. WGAL
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Columbia Borough approved a Senior Citizen Parking Program on May 13 that gives residents 65 or older a free parking permit for one vehicle per household, which allows one hour free parking in metered zones and borough-owned lots. Permits are available at the Borough Office on 308 Locust St and expire December 31; the permit is not valid during street sweeping times—handicap spaces remain reserved for those with a handicap placard.
