- ➤ The Friends of Lancaster Public Library holds its 70th annual BIG Book Sale this weekend at Franklin and Marshall College’s Alumni Sports and Fitness Center — the event offers over 250,000 used books along with vinyl records, audiobooks, CDs, and DVDs. Local authors Ernest Schreiber, Larry Alexander, Mel Lee Newmin, and Nancy Groff will sign books on Saturday, June 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. — items are priced from 50¢ for paperbacks and $2 for hardbacks with free parking, credit cards accepted, and local food trucks onsite. - ➤ Firefighters fought a fire at a rowhome on the 400 block of North Queen Street near East Lemon Street in Lancaster City at 4:20 a.m. Monday—damage and injuries are not yet known. WGAL
- ➤ A fatal two-vehicle crash in Pequea Township today at 8:39 a.m. left a 79-year-old woman dead after her Subaru Outback veered off and hit a tree at the intersection of Long Lane and Marticville Road—while a 78-year-old man remains hospitalized and the Ford Explorer driver was not injured. - ➤ The Miss Pennsylvania competition returned to York City this weekend as 22 contestants were honored at WellSpan Park and will compete at the Appell Center on Thursday, Friday and Saturday—contestants from Lancaster County, York County and Lebanon County said the event has boosted their confidence and friendship, with the winner set to advance to Miss America in Orlando this September.
