CRIME NEWS

  • Police in Manheim Township are searching for a man accused of stealing over $1,000 worth of meat and seafood from Wegman's on 2000 Crossings Boulevard just before midnight Monday—he reportedly left in a white Ford Explorer.  Local 21 News
  • Michael McDonald from Providence Township was charged with two counts of aggravated assault and one count of endangering the welfare of children when he reportedly shook his two-month-old baby (causing a severe brain injury at his Parkview Street residence in May) and his case will proceed to county court while he remains in Lancaster County Prison on $150,000 bail.  WDAC
  • John James Riley, a 20-year-old from York Township, pleaded guilty on Tuesday, June 17 to secretly recording over 1,000 videos of women undressing in a Franklin & Marshall College dorm room from September to November, 2023—and he now faces counts of intercepting communications, criminal use of a communication facility, possession of an instrument of crime with intent, and invasion of privacy after a 90-day presentence investigation.  FOX43

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Gov. Josh Shapiro visited the Lancaster City Housing Authority’s Farnum Street East apartment building to highlight the state’s plan to boost access to affordable housing. He said his administration’s record investment will include $73 million in PHARE funding and $300,000 for exterior renovations at the 169-unit complex serving seniors & those with disabilities.  WDAC
