- ➤ Group Mission Trips volunteers helped veteran James Taylor with home repairs by building a new wheelchair ramp, painting barns — and replacing stairs at his York County home. High school students from across the country worked in the extreme heat and will complete the project later today. FOX43
- ➤ The Lancaster SPCA moved all its animals after its HVAC system broke twice this week during record heat—staff relocated cats Tuesday using a temporary fix and moved 16 dogs Thursday when the backup unit failed, leaving the shelter unable to take in new animals until repairs are made. FOX43
- ➤ After its air conditioning failed earlier this week, the Lancaster SPCA moved 38 dogs and 15 cats on Monday to keep them cool, with repairs finishing by the weekend—bids for a new system will be issued in the fall. - ➤ Martin Foot and Ankle will join WellSpan Health later this summer. Its four practices in Lancaster and Warwick Township (Lancaster County) and Springettsbury Township and Penn Township (York County) will operate under the WellSpan name. PennLive
- ➤ Penn State Health is expanding service at its Lancaster hospital by adding a Level II neonatal intensive care unit that will open by fall to care for newborns needing extra support. Department of Agriculture warned consumers to throw away Meadow View Jerseys raw milk purchased since April 1 with sell-by dates from April 15 to July 8 after tests confirmed Campylobacter contamination. The warning applies to grocery stores in Berks, Dauphin, Lancaster & Lebanon counties and comes after some consumers reported campylobacteriosis symptoms while the farm owner said his tests were negative.
