- ➤ The Lancaster SPCA lost its main air conditioning unit on Monday and its backup on Thursday when temperatures exceeded 90 degrees—forcing the shelter to relocate over 50 dogs and cats to facilities in Philadelphia, Westchester County, and with local foster families. FOX43

- ➤ Lightning struck a house in Ephrata Township on Hahnstown Road and Glenwood Drive at about 8:10 p.m. yesterday, and a neighbor called fire crews who arrived within five minutes and brought the fire under control by 8:30 p.m.—the strike caused minor interior damage and no one was injured. WGAL
