  • The fireworks show at Elizabeth Farms in Lititz has been postponed to today due to a chance of thunderstorms — gates will open at 5 p.m. so guests can enjoy food and drinks as the fireworks start at dusk, while the farm remains closed for food on June 28.  WGAL
  • The Lancaster SPCA lost its main air conditioning unit on Monday and its backup on Thursday when temperatures exceeded 90 degrees—forcing the shelter to relocate over 50 dogs and cats to facilities in Philadelphia, Westchester County, and with local foster families.  FOX43

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Lightning struck a house in Ephrata Township on Hahnstown Road and Glenwood Drive at about 8:10 p.m. yesterday, and a neighbor called fire crews who arrived within five minutes and brought the fire under control by 8:30 p.m.—the strike caused minor interior damage and no one was injured.  WGAL

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Coleman recalled about 228,760 Converta camping cots and camping suspension stretchers—reports show the backrest can snap shut and pinch fingers, leading to serious injuries including fractures. At least seven people were hurt and customers were advised to stop using the items and contact Coleman for a free repair kit.  Daily Voice

  • Jeremy Matthews, a 40-year-old recovering addict from Pittsburgh, now plays piano on Lancaster streets as part of the Keys for the City and Music for Everyone program—he began learning in rehab three years ago and stays sober thanks to his music, which he says helps him become a better version of himself.  WGAL
