- ➤ A 21-year-old man from Marietta died when his car hit a bridge pillar in a single-vehicle crash on Route 283 east at Strickler Road in Rapho Township early Saturday morning, and the Lancaster County coroner’s office said he was pronounced dead at 4:43 a.m. with his cause of death pending an autopsy. - ➤ Over the Fourth of July weekend, firefighters rescued nine boaters near Hershey Dam and a family of five near Hummelstown on the Swatara River—despite creek levels dropping, floating debris and swift currents made water activities dangerous.
