ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • At least one person was taken to the hospital with injuries after a crash closed the road in the 2200 block of Beaver Valley Pike near Carmago Road in Providence Township on Tuesday evening — emergency crews rescued everyone from the vehicle as state police and fire officials responded.  WGAL

CRIME NEWS

  • Police responded to a stabbing that took place Monday night on the 1400 block of West Main Street/Route 322 in Ephrata Borough—injuries remain unknown as the Ephrata Police Department investigates.  WGAL

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The National Weather Service issued a flood watch yesterday from 2 p.m. until midnight for parts of South-Central PA — including Dauphin, Lancaster, Lebanon and York — due to heavy rainfall that may have led to flash flooding in low-lying and urban areas.  WGAL

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Gov. Josh Shapiro signed Senate Bill 95 into law, which allows EMS teams to leave naloxone doses with overdose patients or their caregivers. The law will also improve communication between patients and pharmacists, increase drug cost transparency, and let the State Board of Pharmacy grant provisional licenses to out-of-state pharmacists for up to six months to help address Rite Aid store closures.  WDAC

HEALTH NEWS

  • On Tuesday, a Lancaster County woman donated her uterus so that a York County woman could become a mother through a Penn Medicine trial, and she met her recipient along with baby Olivia—the eighth baby born after the procedure. Penn Medicine now offers the transplant to any qualified woman and the meeting highlighted the success of the program.  WGAL
