- ➤ An underage Lancaster woman pleaded guilty to DUI after rear ending a vehicle on Route 462 Bridge in West Hempfield Township in June, sending the car into oncoming traffic and causing a driver to sustain a spinal injury that required surgery—her blood alcohol content was 0.21—while she also pleaded guilty to aggravated assault by vehicle while DUI. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The state budget was due June 30—36 days late—and Gov. Shapiro said he is working with lawmakers in Manheim Township to finish a full budget that will deliver funds to schools, counties and social services. He added that the divided legislature is negotiating on issues such as education, mass transit and regulation. FOX43
- ➤ Gov. Shapiro visited Lancaster County Tuesday to meet young people and their supervisors in the My Work program run by the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation. The program gives recent high school graduates with disabilities paid internships, and Manheim Township hired some for grounds work at Overlook Park—demonstrating the community benefits. WGAL
