  • The San Juan Bautista Festival gathered thousands in Lancaster over four days to celebrate Hispanic music and food—donations from the event supported the church’s community programs.  FOX43

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A crash with injuries closed the intersection at Route 772 and River Road in East Donegal Township around 12:17 p.m. Saturday—two vehicles were involved while medics checked injuries and advised motorists to use alternate routes.  WGAL

CRIME NEWS

  • An Allentown woman, Carla A. Bartell, 59, pleaded guilty to her sixth DUI in 13 years and was sentenced to 16 months to 7 years in state prison—her sentence will run consecutively with an 18-month penalty for a parole violation from a previous offense.  Daily Voice

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Lancaster County Commissioners approved a $7.4 million contract with Skanska USA on August 13 for a new prison off Willow Street Pike near the Conestoga River— the contract began on August 15 and will run until January 14 while groundbreaking is planned for Q3. Skanska will oversee a project designed to include almost 1,000 beds and 21 housing units.  FOX43

HEALTH NEWS

  • Firefly Fuel issued a recall for 11,275 Safe & Green 32-ounce torch fuel bottles sold from August 2019 to May 2025 after the nozzle applicator was found to be non-child-resistant and the product was mislabeled as non-toxic, posing a poisoning risk to children; no injuries have been reported.  Daily Voice
