- ➤ Jason Ziegler, owner of Lancaster Pickle Company, was accused of insurance fraud after he filed a claim last year for a missing Rolex watch worth nearly $12,000, claiming his French bulldog ate it and later suggesting his maid took it — but investigators found no records at a veterinary hospital — raising questions about his account. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The School District of Lancaster launched the Stopfinder app that lets eligible parents track their children’s bus routes in real time — it also allows direct communication with the transportation department. The app costs $12,500 per year, has 663 registered users, and posted transportation schedules on Aug 15 with school starting today. WGAL
- ➤ McCaskey East High School dedicated the Frank Albrecht Integrated Media Center on Sunday, August 17th to honor late teacher Brother Frank—remembered for decades of service—in marking one year since his ALS-related death at age 66. WGAL

- ➤ Sixteen-year-old Jake Fleishchut of Kirkwood caught a record 28.5-inch, 9.6-pound flounder at a weekend fishing tournament in Long Neck, Delaware, earning $110,000 which he will share with his three teammates.
