ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A preliminary NTSB report said that on July 20 a Piper PA-46 crashed in a cornfield near Lancaster Airport and came to rest 164 feet from the impact site—resulting in the death of 58-year-old pilot Dr. Musaddiq Nazeeri. FOX43
- ➤ A person was struck by a vehicle in the Kellogg's plant parking lot on the 2000 block of State Road in East Hempfield Township—police and fire crews responded and the injured individual was taken to the hospital without any road closures reported. WGAL
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Warwick High School is opening new learning common spaces as students return for the new academic year—featuring writable walls, breakout boxes, and flexible seating based on student feedback—and a tech commons with computer science classes, broadcasting, robotics, and esports offered for in-person and virtual academy students. - ➤ Elizabethtown School District reversed its plan to cut buses for band members and cheerleaders after a dry run showed that three buses could not fit over 100 students – the district will keep four buses and shift funding from another department so that students and staff are not affected. WGAL
