ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ An electric bike rider crashed into a Toyota around 6:40 p.m. Thursday on Church Road near Forney Fields in Warwick Township— the rider sustained very serious injuries while the driver remained unhurt and all involved were juveniles. PennLive
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Investors filed a class action lawsuit against the business partners of a Lancaster man allegedly involved in a $700 million Ponzi scheme—alleging that Daryl Heller and his associates at Prestige Funds and Paramount misled over 2,000 investors by claiming to operate 38,000 ATMs when they owned fewer than 10,000 machines, while Heller filed bankruptcy in February with liabilities estimated between $100 million and $500 million. - ➤ A Lancaster city woman, Jessika L. Hiepler, 47, was sentenced on Thursday by a federal judge for defrauding American Legion Post 34 and American Veterans Post 19—she received two years in prison, three years of supervised release, a $10,000 fine, 100 hours of community service and $432,925.35 in restitution after pleading guilty to two counts of wire fraud in September 2024. - ➤ Marcus Tolton shot his ex-wife multiple times in Quarryville on Thursday, August 28 and then killed himself—he had multiple protection-for-abuse orders, including a temporary one granted on August 27 and earlier orders from May 2023 and April 2024. WGAL
- ➤ Lancaster authorities said that on Dec. 11, 26-year-old Zhalaysia Henson allegedly beat a mother in front of her child outside McRae Elementary School after the victim shouted for her to slow down, leaving the mother with a knocked-out tooth and a permanently disfigured ring finger (Henson was driving with a suspended license) and she will face county court on multiple charges. - ➤ Police and the Lancaster County Coroner’s Office are investigating a death at a home on the 100 block of East State Street in Quarryville — a shooting was reported around 2 a.m. near South Hess and East State streets with few details available. PennLive
