COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The WeeUsables Consignment Shop has returned to Spooky Nook’s Fieldhouse Court in Lancaster County and is offering used children’s items and consign opportunities until Sept. 6. The shop is open today from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and will be open Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.—unsold items will be donated to local charities.  FOX43

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Apolinar Mendez Heredia, 63, of Lancaster Township died after becoming trapped in a machine at the Lancaster Leaf Tobacco Company on Pitney Road in Lancaster City — rescue crews worked to free him before he was pronounced dead, and officials are investigating the incident.  WGAL
  • Traffic was severely backed up on Route 30 in Lancaster County after a crash occurred in the eastbound lanes near the Centerville Road exit in East Hempfield Township just before noon—drivers experienced major delays.  WGAL

CRIME NEWS

  • Police in Lancaster County investigated a hit-and-run after a white Honda SUV struck a pedestrian at 7:54 p.m. on Sept. 3 in the 1000 block of Lincoln Road in Ephrata Township— the pedestrian suffered non-life-threatening injuries and officials are asking residents with cameras to review footage between 7:40 and 7:54 p.m.  WGAL
  • Lancaster police are searching for a dirt bike rider who fled from officers on August 27 during a traffic stop on Lititz Pike and was seen driving recklessly near the Shoppes at Belmont on September 3 — he was carrying an orange DoorDash delivery box.  WGAL
  • Lower Allen Township police said that Ryan Matthew Bennett, 43 from Camp Hill, allegedly hit a woman’s car multiple times on Creek Road near Cedar Cliff Drive on Aug. 1—he drove into her vehicle before forcing her off the road as his truck hit a utility pole and became disabled.  Daily Voice

HEALTH NEWS

  • On Thursday morning, a boil water advisory was issued to more than 30 properties in Lancaster County after a water main break along Lampeter Road in West Lampeter Township+ residents are advised to boil water before drinking, washing dishes, or preparing food until the issue is resolved.  WGAL
  • Pharmacies in Pennsylvania began preparing to give the new COVID vaccine without prescriptions after the State Board of Pharmacy voted on Wednesday to let pharmacists follow guidance from ACOG & AAP, AAFP & FDA. Governor Shapiro said CVS will begin giving the vaccine soon to restore access lost from past federal changes.  WGAL
