  • The Schreiber Center for Pediatric Development held its annual Rubber Duckie Race and Festival on Sept. 7 at Central Park, raising over $135,000 to support children with disabilities and developmental delays. The event featured races, pony rides, arts and crafts, carnival games, live music and food vendors—providing a joyful outing for families in Lancaster.  FOX43

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A three-vehicle crash in Caernarvon Township on Saturday night injured five people taken to hospital—EMT crews extricated two trapped individuals and responded to additional calls while state police investigated.  Local 21 News

  • Lancaster County judge Jeffery D. Wright denied convicted murderer Randall Shreiner’s request for compassionate release—citing that unsupervised care would shock the conscience of the court after he killed his mistress near her Ephrata apartment in 2015 and repeatedly refused lifesaving dialysis treatment.  Daily Voice
  • Lancaster City police are searching for a missing 23-year-old woman, Ceciliah Leininger from Leola, who was last seen near the 200 block of East King Street at 2 a.m. on Sept. 7 — she is 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighs 140 pounds, has brown hair, wore an orange or red t-shirt with black basketball-style shorts, and anyone with info should call 717-735-330 or 717-664-1180.  WGAL
  • A Lancaster woman who defrauded nonprofit veterans groups of over $1.4M was sentenced on Sept.5 to 24 months in prison, three years of supervised release, a $10,000 fine, 100 hours of community service, and partial restitution after she controlled the finances of American Legion Post 34 and AMVETS Post 19.  Daily Voice
