Here's your local news at a glance for Tuesday, the 22nd of September.
Good morning, Lancaster.
🏘️ Community
A homeless encampment along North Conestoga Drive in Lancaster Township was cleared Monday morning after delays, with police giving crews the all-clear at 8:30 a.m. Officials documented residents’ belongings (stored for 30 days) and coordinated with county outreach to offer resources.
💼 Business
Just Press Play, a Lancaster County video game store, is adapting to industry shifts as Nintendo Switch 2 game-key cards and Sony’s move to all-digital titles change game buying, meaning customers buy licenses—not permanent copies—and lose trading options (a trend that may affect both retro and modern titles).
🎭 Culture
Lancaster Parking Authority will open Makers, a new gallery workspace for 13 local artists at Ewell Plaza downtown, offering secured spaces at $450 monthly rental.
The gallery will welcome the public on Central Market days, starting with First Friday on Nov. 6.
