  • Baby is a 1.5-year-old dog at Lancaster’s Pet Pantry—taken in Tuesday from a home where the owners had too many dogs—who is shy but friendly and is now ready for a forever home.  FOX43

CRIME NEWS

  • Cybercriminals are sending texts that pretend to be from the Department of Taxation—offering refunds to steal personal information. Lancaster residents are urged to delete these messages and report them to local tax authorities.  WGAL

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Attorney General Dave Sunday warned that scammers are sending unsolicited medical equipment—wheelchairs, oxygen machines, knee braces, and walkers—to seniors and billing Medicare or the patients, so seniors should check their statements and report any bogus charges immediately.  WGAL

HEALTH NEWS

  • Xiana Saunders, born at 9 a.m. on Aug. 25 weighing only 14 oz, survived a brain hemorrhage, a hole in her heart, and several surgeries during a 374-day stay in the NICU — she returned home on Sept. 4 and remains there after a brief readmission for chronic lung disease. Priscilla Saunders expressed relief as her miracle baby, once given a zero percent chance, now begins a new chapter in Lancaster County.  WGAL
