- ➤ Terre Hill Area Senior Connections, opened in January in Lancaster County, has served more than 30 local seniors every Monday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to noon—providing a space for active engagement—and now seeks volunteer support from local organizations to sustain its programs. WGAL

- ➤ Sight & Sound Theatres will debut its new film A Great Awakening on April 3 during Easter weekend in Lancaster County — it tells the story of English minister George Whitefield and his friendship with Benjamin Franklin while filming took place in Ronks and East Earl Township. PennLive
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Lancaster SROs at Reynolds Middle and McCaskey High start their days early by checking classrooms and offering snacks and advice to students with behavioral concerns. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Political analyst Berwood Yost from Franklin and Marshall College explained that the government shutdown in Washington has impacted federal workers, slowed essential services, and may reduce federal funding for local programs in Pennsylvania—he compared this shutdown with past ones and noted the significant furloughs at agencies like the Environmental Protection Agency. His remarks indicate that while essential services continue, delays and reduced payments could affect the delivery of key public services. WGAL
- ➤ Eligible Pennsylvanians must apply for a mail-in ballot by 5 p.m. on Oct. 28 by using the online form & visiting their county board of elections in person. Completed ballots must be received by 8 p.m. on Nov. 4 for the general election. WGAL
- ➤ New billboards near the Amtrak station and along Prince Street in Lancaster display the message 'Without due process, it’s just kidnapping. ICE out of Lancaster' to protest ICE operations and raise awareness about immigration issues. Alison Moon and nonprofit Lancaster Stands Up sponsored the signs, and local Rep. - ➤ PennDOT is asking local residents to share feedback through an online survey on its work to improve over 2,600 miles of road and more than 230 bridges—feedback that will help plan future improvements. The survey will remain open until Oct. 21. WGAL
