ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Donegal High School senior Joey Williams died in a one-vehicle crash at 2 a.m. Sunday on the 1800 block of Landis Road in East Donegal Township (over $15,000 has been raised for his funeral) as Susquehanna Regional Police investigate the cause.  WGAL

BUSINESS NEWS

  • LNP will leave its long-time North Queen Street office by Oct 31 after more than 200 years in Lancaster as it shifts most employees to remote work - a move aimed at saving money for local journalism.  WGAL

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Maintenance work began on the Norman Wood Bridge, which spans the Susquehanna River and Norfolk Southern Railroad tracks in York and Lancaster counties, on Oct. 6 and will continue until mid-November with crews performing concrete overlay, deck patches and joint repairs—flaggers directing one-lane traffic during daylight hours remind drivers to be alert.  WGAL
  • Lancaster city government proposed a new zoning ordinance on Monday to regulate AI data centers by allowing them only in industrial zones and requiring state air quality, noise, energy, and waste standards—residents have expressed concern over the $6 billion CoreWeave project. The proposal is now set for review by the City Planning Commission before a full City Council vote.  FOX43
  • Lancaster County Housing and Redevelopment Authorities approved HOME-ARP funding to help people with disabilities and mental illness who are at higher risk of homelessness. The updated funding plan - approved by county commissioners - will be sent to HUD for final review to address unmet local needs.  FOX43
  • Senators Chris Gebhard and Doug Mastriano introduced a bill that would increase penalties for anyone who threatens, assaults, or obstructs ICE officers. The move comes after Homeland Security reported an 830% rise in assaults against ICE officers.  WGAL

SPORTS NEWS

  • Millersville University on Monday relieved head football coach J.C. Morgan after a 0-5 start—appointing offensive coordinator Brian Ferguson as interim coach—and will launch a national search for a new coach after the season ends. The football team has six games remaining, starting with a visit to Shippensburg.  FOX43
