- ➤ Lancaster County police officers and firefighters will skate this Saturday at the Lancaster Ice Rink on Carrera Drive—raising funds for the families of three York County detectives killed in the line of duty last month; 38 responders from 21 local agencies will compete while tickets cost $10 and the event includes a 50/50 raffle, silent auction, Touch a Truck event and an honor guard opening ceremony at 2:15 p.m. WGAL

- ➤ Chellas Arepa Kitchen in Lancaster prepared a special Gabby Arepa with bacon+chicken+ranch+cheese for FOX43's Gabrielle Mediak, and the Quiroz brothers also served their burger arepa and hibiscus lemonade. The restaurant operates on Hempstead Road and N. Queen Street. FOX43
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ A traveling display known as Silent Witnesses — featuring 20 life-sized silhouettes honoring domestic violence victims — is on view at the Lancaster County Government Center until Friday and will move to other local venues during October. The exhibit highlights 119 domestic violence deaths in Pennsylvania last year and invites visitors to remember these real stories. WGAL
- ➤ Lancaster County public libraries face a 17% funding cut—about $300,000 lost—that will force job reductions and the suspension of a van used for early childhood programs. The library system is asking local residents to support their branches as the 2026 county budget may bring additional cuts. FOX43
- ➤ Lancaster Airport is running normally today even as Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy warns that essential subsidies for the air service program will expire by Sunday—risking future disruptions.
