ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ On August 28, 16-year-old William Fenninger, a Warwick School District student, died in an e-bike crash on Church Street near Forney Field in Warwick Township when he was hit by a Toyota minivan; police said the driver—17—followed traffic rules while Fenninger did not yield the right-of-way. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ UGI warned Lancaster customers that scammers are using fake online ads—showing phone numbers and websites not linked to the utility—to trick people into paying fees for gas leak checks and said it will never charge for such services while police help with the case. WGAL
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Hempfield School Board voted 4—3 on Tuesday night to keep Superintendent Michael Bromirski, Assistant Superintendent Tab Musser, and CFO Karen Hall on their current contracts until 2027 instead of letting them resign for new five—year deals starting July 1 and ending in 2031. Board members who opposed the change said the process was rushed—even though it had been discussed for months—and noted the decision came just one week before Election Day. WGAL
