ECONOMY NEWS

  • Black Friday shoppers in Lancaster County braved near-freezing temperatures to take advantage of holiday deals at Tanger Outlets, with some waiting in line and many budgeting around $890 for gifts. The National Retail Federation projected record shopping numbers between Thanksgiving and Cyber Monday—up from last year, reflecting strong consumer interest despite the cold.  Local 21 News

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The Lancaster Conservancy spent $4 million to buy land in southern York County to create Eagle View Nature Preserve with views of the Susquehanna River—protecting a healthy hardwood forest from clear-cutting.
