- ➤ VisionCorps invites children to write Braille letters to Santa and receive a festive reply as part of an annual event promoting inclusion and literacy. Letters will be accepted until Dec. 15 at its Lancaster office (244 N. Queen St.). FOX43

- ➤ A winning $50,000 New Year’s Millionaire Raffle ticket was sold at The Beer & Beverage Shoppe (200 block of Roseville Road in Manheim Township) between Nov. 25 and Dec. 1, and the ticket is eligible for one of four $1 million prizes to be drawn on Jan. 3. WGAL

- ➤ Lancaster City Bureau of Fire held a daylong screening event for firefighters using a quick swallowable device that goes to a lab to check for cancer signs (experts say early detection helps) and union leaders stressed its role in keeping firefighters safe from occupational risks. WGAL
- ➤ Dr. Vinitha Moopen from WellSpan Family and Pediatric Medicine told FOX43 that a study by the American Academy of Pediatrics links early phone use to depression, obesity, and sleep issues in kids. She advised parents to consider waiting until children are 12 before giving them a phone. FOX43
