COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ Toys for Tots distribution is underway at U-Haul Moving and Storage of Columbia, where pre-registered families can receive up to three toys, stocking stuffers, books, and stuffed animals. A special appearance by Santa and several semi-trucks loaded with bikes were seen Monday; distribution continues through Saturday. WGAL
- ➤ On Monday evening, Sports Barber owner Eric Bare hosted his 16th annual bike donation drive that collected over 1,000 bikes for Toys for Tots in Ephrata; police closed Main Street & volunteers loaded bikes into tractor-trailers for delivery to the Columbia distribution center amid a light snowfall. - ➤ A stretch of Route 501 in Manheim Township is closed now between Airport and Millport roads because heavy snow and ice make travel dangerous near Lancaster Airport. Drivers are advised to be cautious as delays continue, with some local schools announcing postponements. WGAL

- ➤ WGAL News 8 continues the 15th day of 25 Nights of Lights on Whipporwill Drive in Lancaster County (a home lined with festive figurines and interactive lights) as viewers can tune in at 11 p.m. every night through Christmas Eve to see dazzling displays. WGAL
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Centerville Elementary School officials said extra security was in place on Monday after a student made a threat involving a list of other students. The school reported that the threat was unarmed and that the student's family was contacted (Hempfield School District operated on a two-hour delay). WGAL
