- ➤ A local viewer received a scam text claiming his Apple ID triggered a security alert after a $144 Apple Store charge in California, leading him to call a number. He disconnected when the call reported transactions from the Cayman Islands, Russia and California—reminding all to verify charges directly. WGAL
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Lancaster County Christian School rewarded students for beating its $500,000 goal by having three faculty sleep on the roof, with the school raising over $737,000 to fund a new building for overcrowded classes. WGAL
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ On Wednesday night, the Ephrata Borough Council approved a plan for Ephrata National Bank to build a new facility on Main Street by demolishing the historic Wenger Feed Mill. Preservation groups raised concerns during the meeting & the bank aims to remain a downtown fixture. WGAL
- ➤ Officials from the Mountville Fire Company announced they will merge with West Hempfield Fire and Rescue next year to form Iron Ridge Fire Rescue — the new department will begin responses in April. WGAL
- ➤ State-funded bonuses offer $450 per child care worker and up to four recruitment bonuses for licensed centers as part of an effort to fill 3,000 vacant positions — centers must submit applications by Jan. 29 with payments starting in February. FOX43
